This time I will write about the flag of
ASEAN.
Flag of the Association of Southeast Asian
Nations was established in 2007. This is 2:3 width and length. This flag
represents the vitality and united, stable, peace of ASEAN. Blue, red, white, yellow that are used to flag represents color of the
major member countries. Blue represents peace, stability, red represents
courage, vitality, white represents purity, yellow represents prosperity. Rice
stalks are drawn in the middle. This represents the dream of the founders of
ASEAN, which is composed of all the countries in Southeast Asia are connected
by friendship and unity. The circle represents the unity of ASEAN.
Below is a flag and logo of the Association
of Southeast Asian Nations. The aspect ratio of the flag is the same as the
national flag of Japan.
It is also the same as the ratio of the
Japanese flag square and circle.
It is unlikely coincidence. ASEAN logo is a
red circle with a white border. Such marks are not typical. From pre-war to the
present day, as far as I know, the design that is only red circle and white
edge is the Japanese flag.
There is a country with a flag similar to
the national flag of Japan as ASEAN. It is Palau and Bangladesh.
Palau
Golden circle indicates that the moon and
Palau became independent country. The moon plays an important role of natural
cycles and harvest, the annual event for the people of Palau. Light blue
represents an escape from the shadows cast by the reign of exotic past and that
Palau is located in the vast Pacific Ocean. Historically, before the the rule
of the United States Palau is in the Japan Territory mandate. Theory design of
the flag is said to be based on the national flag of Japan, such as it is
similar and it is a national pro-Japanese Today, design has been elected to
public offering from the people was born and spread. The moon is an indication
friendship paired with the sun of the national flag of Japan, in this theory, and
it is assumed to be a sign of reverence for Japan. However, these are only
unofficial snowfall, there is no description of the similarity of the design by
the Interior Ministry documents about national flag Palau government.
Bangladesh
Flag of Bangladesh, was established on
January 17, 1972. Green background, the design of the flag, the red circle is
drawn from the center somewhat closer to the flagpole. The red circle
represents the sun rising , green background represents the rich earth. In
addition, the red color represents the blood of the dead in the war of
independence. 3:5 aspect ratio. May be similarities in design with the Japanese
flag there is a close connection between graduates and the country has been
pointed out, there is also the case that remarks such as home and researchers
from the country associated with the origin, the Government of Bangladesh never
showed a positive or negative view that they officially, too.
